| Nosea was founded early in the post-Maghiz recovery.
The early colonists were disappointed because, while warm enough for any
Daryen, it had very little fluid water. Most of the planet's water
is concentrated at the poles, and therefore frozen as ice. Because
of this lack of available water, Nosea still maintains a fairly low population.
A large portion of its population is employed in support of the massive Imperial naval base located here. Originally this base was used by the Daryens for defense against the Sword Worlds. However, the Imperium requested from the Darrian Confederation a location for an Imperial naval base, and the Confederation just turned over their own base located on Nosea. The Imperial base is a mixed blessing, but is predominately beneficial. The major advantage being a much higher level of traffic than the world would otherwise see. |
